Submission Guidelines

As part of the submission process, authors are required to verify the compliance of their submission with all the items listed below. Submissions that do not comply with the guidelines will be returned to the authors.

Registration in the system and subsequent access, through login and password, are mandatory for submitting works, as well as for tracking the ongoing editorial process.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ARTICLE SUBMISSION

  1. Originality Works must be original in Brazil—unless exempted by the Editor-in-Chief, considering the relevance of the topic, the quality of the research, and the notoriety of the author(s)—and their publication must not be pending in other print or electronic media. After the publication of the journal, texts may be reproduced in other media, provided that the original is cited as the source.

  2. Originality Works must be original and therefore must not contain plagiarism or self-plagiarism, under penalty of rejection, which will also apply if the use of Artificial Intelligence in the writing/development of the work is identified. Literal citations, paraphrases, or summaries of other works must be accompanied by references to the original publication. Citing previous work by the author(s), according to ABNT rules, does not constitute self-plagiarism.

  3. Minimum Qualification Articles must be signed by at least one author who holds a minimum qualification of a PhD in any area of knowledge related to the field to which the journal is linked, allowing co-authorship (limited to up to three authors per article) and exempting the requirement of a doctorate for co-authors.

  4. Anonymization The name(s) of the author(s) must not appear in the body of the article, and sections that could compromise the guarantee of anonymity in evaluation must be removed, as well as identification data in the document properties.

  5. Registration on the Journal's Page To submit articles, prior registration on the Electoral Studies journal page is necessary.

  6. Signature of the Article Submission Agreement: Declaration of Originality and Authorization for Publication To submit the article, the author(s) must sign the Article Submission Agreement, declaring originality and granting authorization for publication without charge in both print and online versions, under the Creative Commons – Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), and subjecting the text to the standardization rules adopted by the Electoral Studies journal. This document must be properly attached and sent as the “Article Submission Agreement” through the journal's page at the time of article submission.
