Abstract
There is evidence that women and girls with disabilities still face barriers in most areas of life, and these obstacles generate situations in which there are multiple and intersectional forms of discrimination against them. By participating in political decision-making, especially
on matters that concern them, women with disabilities create favorable conditions to promote their other fundamental rights. To guarantee this participation, and an approximation of equality in fact, it is sometimes necessary to create specific measures that promote the access of this social group to official decision-making spaces.
